Abida Parveen is one of the giants of Sufi music, the spirited singer maybe the greatest of her generation, who has moved millions of people across the world by the way she recites the poetry of the saints. Well versed in Sindhi, Punjabi, Saraiki, Urdu and Persian – Abida transcends the barriers of language with her diverse repertoire of songs that pierce through the soul of the listener.

Embarking on this journey in 1973 from Radio Pakistan, she’s an honorable recipient of Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, amongst countless others.

An iconic figure and acknowledged as one of the best singers of her generation, she made her debut on Coke Studio early on in Season 3, and then in Season 7 with performances that are regarded as some of the most memorable that the platform has witnessed.
